I am going to do something different today. I decided for every step of the way for day 13`s theme, I will “live” update this post, whether the art turns out good or bad.
As if the theme isn’t enough challenge on its own… meet my muses for today!
This is my starting point:
** edit I **
Having had dinner, the time has come to get started. I’m a leftie, so the obvious choice is to have Joost (mr. blue eyes – a choc sealpoint ragdoll) on my right thumb. I’ve put a matte topcoat over the nude colour I applied earlier, to create a smooth surface as there were some bumps and scrapes already.
The left hand has been given a grey coat, as Olivier is a British Shorthair.
** edit II **
For Joost, I had to do the whole thing in 1 go in order to keep the momentum. I’m not sure if he really looks like a cat or a baboon, I think it’s to do with the flash on my phone camera. Maybe once finished completely, I’ll ask the husband to get the big camera and we can do this properly.
Anyway, one down, right-hand painting to go….
** edit III **
I keep forgetting I’m a leftie and painting with my right hand is hard! Also, as Olivier is technically one color, I assumed it would be easy. WRONG! The little guy’s coat is shiny as you wouldn’t believe!
These are the polishes used (on their own as well as mixed):
And the end result. It’s not a fail. It’s not a succeed. I class it as a “nice try”…
